THE GOSPEL
Good News For Sinners
Who is God?
While many claim otherwise, there is only one true God. This God, who exists eternally in three persons (the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), made and sovereignly rules over everything--this includes the heavens, the earth, and even you! Even those who deny God’s existence do so knowing deep down in their hearts that He exists, and that they will have to stand before Him on judgment day. God is the perfect one to judge because He is all-knowing, infinitely righteous, holy, just, good, wise, faithful, and is the perfection of love.
What is man?
God made mankind, male and female, in His image to live in relationship with Him and to glorify Him. But instead of trusting and obeying God, our first parents, Adam and Eve, chose to violate God’s standard of good and evil, and they rebelled against Him. This one sin of Adam has now spread from one generation to another, so that everyone is condemned before Him, having a nature that can only think, desire, and do what God hates. As a result, all people have sinned and continually fall short of God's perfect standard. This includes you! Unless a person has this sin problem dealt with, they will get what they truly deserve: eternal punishment for their sin in hell, separated from the gracious presence of God.

Who is Jesus Christ and what did He do?
At just the right time, God sent His Son to be born of a virgin and to be called Jesus, which means "God is salvation". He was given this name, because He would save His people from their sins. Unlike Adam or anyone after him, Jesus lived a perfect life and died for sinners by suffering for their disobedience under the wrath of God at the cross. Having satisfied God’s justice due to sinners, God raised Him from the dead and exalted Him to sit on His throne in heaven, to give eternal life and forgiveness of sins to all those who believe in Him.
How must you respond?
What must you do to be saved? There are few questions of greater eternal significance. The Bible's words are clear: “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31). There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus! It is by faith in Jesus Christ alone that man can be reconciled to God. Now that you have heard the good news of Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection, God commands you to repent and believe in the good news - that is to hate and turn from sin and to trust in Jesus Christ and what He did to save you from your sins. All who believe in Jesus have eternal life, and the evidence that someone really is saved is a lifestyle of repentance, faith, obedience, and a love for His people (the church).
